Default cool steering column move stopped working

One of the few coolest features of my sc400 has stopped working.
What I'm talking about is the steering column moving to its memory position when the key is inserted.

Suddenly it stopped doing so yesterday. I can move the steering column manually after the ignition key is inserted, but it just doesn't retract to its high position when I take out the ignition key. And vice versa when I first insert the key.

What could be wrong?

There is a button on the side of the steering column that turns that feature on and off. Maybe you hit it by accident. I keep mine turned off just because I figure it's one less thing to wear out.
