Is "cabin air filter" another name for the AC filter or are they two distinct filters?

Yes. There is only one filter, called the cabin air filter, its located at the top of the glove box, inside.

 

a/c pollen filter, cabin filter. one filter. another filter is your air filter/engine air filter

 

don't forget about the fuel filter!

 

My cabin filter was a pain in the butt to get back in. I accidently snapped the filter housing and had to glue it back together lol

 

sorry to hear...it will be much easier next time for you i bet! sometimes I print out the pics from CL just to ensure I press all the right tabs and also study it two or three times before I dive into it. From past experiences breaking tabs and jamming stuff in I've learned my lesson! At least you didn't jack up the airbag module like I did somehow on my 09 FX35 replacing the cabin filter! LOL
