Trying to figure out how the heck the HVAC system works on my GS with 3 zone control!

Just making sure there is only ONE filter in the friggin car, in the glove box, CORRECT

Wow what a complex HVAC! It should have a logic description in the manual with a nice chart to show what conditions do what Pretty cool though how complex and smart the system really is!

 

Yes, only one filter - Cabin Air Filter.

The manual refers to the same filter in three different ways, so I wanted to be sure I wasn't missing anything.

 

The cabin air filter is available from various sources in both regular as well as carbon impregnated (charcoal-activated).
