Default SC 430 and E-Z Pass

Has anyone had any trouble using an E-Z Pass with the SC 430? Reason I ask is that I'd like to get an E-Z Pass for the few times I take long trips each year; I know that my Corvette had some kind of material in the windshield that blocked the E-Z Pass signal, and am wondering if this is also the case with the SC 430.

I have been using ez tags for years and currently have them on my GS350, RX350 and SC430. No issue at all except they look ugly on the windshield.

Thanks. Agree they look ugly, but what's uglier is wasting time sitting in a line to pay a road toll (as I found out this past weekend). Guess I'll order one. Thanks again.

I have a SunPass (similar to the EZ Pass) right behind the rear view mirror. I agree it's an eyesore, but if you place it just right, you (the driver) won't be able to see it.

Yes, but the SunPass is nicer than the E-Z Pass that we have in MD. It attaches with suction cups; the Maryland version mounts with adhesive tape. We also have one that mounts to the front plate, but I don't know what that one looks like.

Plus we now have a nonrefundable $21 transponder fee and a $1.50 monthly maintenance fee. I am not in love with this state.

I have mine hidden under the sun visor. When I need it I just hold it up in the windshield and after the toll I put it back This way I dont have to look at its ugly self

+1 That's where I put the EZ Pass -- don't even know it is there.

BTW, you don't have to get the EZ Pass from your state and the rates are VERY different. Rate comparison is here.

I keep my E-Z pass in the little front pocket of the driver's seat. Used mine for years with no issue.

Thanks JohnnyCake, good info. I had gotten mine from the Pa Turnpike years ago, and never paid a monthly fee, just send a letter a couple of days ago stating that they were going to charge. As far as were to put it, we don't use the SC much for trips, (might start when the RFs are gone) always use the ES. We keep it in the glove compartment and just get it out when going thru. We did buy a holder that has suction cups on it to put on the winshield, we did it that way cause both cars are listed as users.
One time we traded cars with our daughter and the transponder was in the glove box, she got on the turnpike and got a ticket, part of the way on the trip she called and asked about the transponder, well when she got off she checked and the transponder had also registered. So I would say it doen't matter where it is as long as it's in the car, and not wrapped in aluminum foil.
