Default new member...ipod intergration?

I've been searching through the forum to find a solution for hooking up an ipod directly to the stock '03 stereo. Do you guys have any recommendations? I was thinking maybe that the cord could be in the glove box like the newer models.

t119, there's a lot on the forum offering several solutions for ipod integration that allow aux inputs for an ipod or sat. radio. None of the solutions allow a direct hookup to an '03 ML stereo system without a third party interface. I suggest you search on "VAIS" or visit https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...your-unit.html to get you started. Welcome to Cl and good luck.

The only thing that works is one of those "cassette tapes" with the cable hanging out that plugs into your Ipod's headphone port. Thus altering the IPOD's digital format back to analog picked up by the heads in the cassette deck.

I saved a lot going with the simple kit. Cost half the price, easy to install, works like crap. Buy the vais...

had the vais installed in my sisters SC, works good but its slightly costly in my opinion & doesnt give that many features other then the ipod intergration. on the other hand, I had the Parrat MKI 9100 installed in my personal daily driver SC430 & believe me when i say; u cant go wrong with this system the best ever! i can vouch for the parrot system,Sound quality is pretty good and the BT works like a charm. I personaly think, with all the features the Parrot MKI9100 provides; it brings our SCs up to date, considering all the technolgy the SC lacks on. good luck on ur search and keep us posted.

Hmm, looking around at the Parrot, it seems to be more expensive. I see it for 250 on thier website, and another 100 for the harness. That makes it kinda pricy over the VAIS. It looks like he additional benefits are BT, steering wheel control, and the OLED screen?

Seems like they should be including the harness... $100 is crazy

What kit did you get kaiser?

As posted recently, I purchased a MultiMediaLinQ - High-End Digital Audio Interface Adapter from Vais Technology and had it installed. Here is the link to the adapter: http://www.multimedialinq.com/vml.php. I’m very happy with it’s performance.

Rather than put in the glove box, they ran the USB cable into my center consol where it cannot be seen and easily accessed. More specifically they ran the cable through right next to the charger, a very clean installation. Now I can play digital music from a memory stick and also an Ipod.

I also did this because sooner of later, it’s simply a matter of time, one of the CD’s will get stuck and send an error message to the unit. And lets’ face, CD’s will be obsolete within the very near future IMO. By the way, I know it’s not sure-fire approach, but I’ve heard if CDs do get stuck and the error 3 message is displayed, that if you disconnect the battery for 15 minutes or so, it may fix the problem. Don’t quote me on this, but it’s what I learned from one technician.

Johnny the install went great, had it installed in the center consul with the box installed right under the heater seat controls, I do have one question and that is every time I use it the Ipod wants to repeat the song and I have to manually change it. I have went into the settings on the Ipod and made them to off but it seem to automatically change it back to repeat. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, the cost of the install was $100.00, thanks again for any help.
