Default Battery source for the SC 430

It appears I have a battery problem that is causing weird problems with my Luxlink. Like the back windows going down all by themselves and the top not going down although the light in the roof switch lights up when I try to put it down with the dash switch or the remote. When I try to start the car it cranks slowly but does start.

I was surprised when I called Sears Auto Center and they said they don't carry that battery. It seems like I heard from others that they bought their batteries at Sears. What was your source for those that have replaced their battery?

John
Oh, and yes it is 75 here today which is why I want the top down!

I'm about to replace mine with an Interstate MTP-91. Firestone Tire Centers sell them. About $150 installed.

Well that's interesting. My previous Diehard was their international model 33348. Here is the link: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_02833348000P

When I replaced it I went with the Interstate MTP-H6...not as powerful as the MTP-91 but its been working fine.

The H6 is the appropriate replacement, but the 91 will fit (or so they say), and as you said has more power.

I live in San Diego near the beach, cold cranking amps were not that important to me.

For those wondering, CCA are the number of amps a battery can support for 30 seconds at a temperature of 0 degrees Fahrenheit until the battery voltage drops to unusable levels.

Unless Sears recently dropped the Die Hard battery for the SC, they do carry it. I got one less than a year ago, I believe.

Sears does not have a die hard platinum in their system for our car. The battery they have which is the same size has the terminals in a different place, and they stick up a bit. They put the die hard platinum in my car, it fits fine, and the terminal wires reach. I don't have any extra systems, but I wanted the extra cranking power. I figured that top uses quite a bit of juice. If you want me to post a pic underhood, how it looks installed, let me know.

Mine has the cover installed, so you can't see the battery.
