Default Key Programming - no joy!

Hi All,
Been working for a few weeks to get my key programmed for my 02 430.

It's an OEM key that has been laser cut. I've been able to get the remote functions programmed fine, but am having trouble with the transponder.

I've tried all the sequences a million times. One question I have for you guys is when I've finished the sequence and pull out the current master key programmed to the car already, the security light stays lit solid for about 5 seconds. Then when I put the new key in that I am trying to program, the light will blink a different sequence than normal. It's one blink and two short blinks, repeated over and over.

Has anyone seen this? Any tips that may help me?

BTW, this is the best set of instructions I have found http://www.locksmithcharley.com/toyo...structions.pdf

Thanks!

Based on the description, your "master key" may be recognized as a valet key. You should also have an automotive locksmith (or Lexus) make sure the transponder (in the new key) is the correct type for an SC430.
