2 little things about my 2005 430. Can anyone tell me the process to change from miles to KM? Second the seat memory buttons aren't working. Following the instructions but there is no Beep to indicate the memory has been accepted. Any ideas beside take it to the lexus dealer> Thanks Norm

The process to change from miles to KM is called division; 1 mile = 1.6093 KM.
As for the seat memory buttons, the setting button only works when you have the engine on (or have the key in that position) and have the transmission in "Park" (or maybe also Neutral). It will not work while you are in gear, which is often frustrating, but understandable.

Thanks for the math lesson but what I wanted was the process to change the odometer reading from Miles to Kms. I have a BMW and an Audi and they both have a simple process to change from metric to standard and back. The memory seats don't appear to work with that procedure and i have followed the manual. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem.

Welcome to the forum, nlb250. Don't let tfischer bother you -- he's just smarter than the rest of us. As for the seat, it sounds like maybe the battery was disconnected at some point. Once that happens, the seat memory will not work until you reset it. All you have to do is move your seat all the way back and then all the way forward; the seat then knows where it is and the memory can work! As for the miles/kilometers, I believe that is in the "SETUP" area of the Nav screen.

Yeah, I was just funnin' with ya because nobody in the US of A knows or even cares what a KM is, much less knows how to convert one to the other. As Johnny mentions, there is a switch in the setup menus somewhere to make the change, which should be pretty easy to find.
By the way, you can change the language to French on the opening Nav Screen, but I don't think you can change it again without shutting off the car and starting again. I learned that one the hard way.
Happy motoring - you will love this car.

Theres dealer only settings referred to as C-BEST settings. The one you want is

14.
UNIT CONVERSION UNITS BY REGION ML/G US Changes the unit of the

display. ML/G US
ML/G UK
KM/L LS430

If you goto a dealer they should do it for free.
