There is no way in the world that someone who keyed the living daylights outta my car is just gonna get off with paying the $100 deductable and covering the rental car expense. As others have stated,

a. She is a very sick individual who needs help. Car geting keyed is only step one. May be YOU getting keyed(knifed) next time. Sorry but I wouldnt wish that on anyone.

b. You need to let the police know exactly what transpired and what was said and have that put into the police report..

c. Before you record any conversation, see what your state laws are on audible recordings. Heck, see if you can get her to admit something on paper. IM's, emails, in most states are acceptable and you don't have to let them know that you are keeping them as record. Phone recordings are a bit more restrictive depending on state laws.

D. Insurance company needs to know what tookplace as well. Heck, she didnt respect you enough NOT to key your car. You need not respect her enough to let the insurance company make her pay for what she did.

E. Most importantly,,,GET A RESTRAINING ORDER AND GET AS FAR AWAY FROM HER AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE!!!!

It's out of your hand once the insurance company jumps in anways, she's an ex, screw it. Beezy keyed your car, she can pay for it, ALL of it, not just a tiny $100 deductible.
So is that if they're married or just going out? Friend of mines parents split up and before they were officially divorced she came and took a bunch of stuff out of his car. He called the cops and they told him if she had a key and they were still married they couldn't do anything.
