Default Intake question

Hello fellas,

I'm looking to buy an intake. I'm sure there's many posts about intakes, which one is good and which is bad. Any recommendations though? I was looking at this Injen intake on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/INJEN...mZ380067022942. I like to hear your opinions about it or may be link me to previous threads. Thanks all! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I have this particular intake, this unit and all intakes really do nothing but make noise and the illusion of being faster. For $200 it did make the engine bay look nicer and my car sounds better. After I put my headers on I waited a couple weeks until I got used to the powerband , then I put the factory airbox back on. Reset the ECU and I have way more low end. I installed my intake back on now since its getting cold. Better top end but it seems like I lost a little low end tq. 3.76 LSD going on soon that should help though

If its a short ram intake you shouldn't notice a drop in low end at all. To also help combat drawing in hot engine air, you could also fab up (or purcahse if one can be sourced) a heat sink barrier (aka a heat shield). Something to look into. If it was a cold air intake then yes you'd notice a loss of torque. This loss can easily be made up with a throttle body spacer.
