i was looking at the injen intake on luxurymods.com and it seems like an alrite price, but i was wondering if anyone had it and if they could tell me about its performance. my friend says that the injen cold air intake is more for low RPM's and not good for high rpms when you ar eon the free way. any help is greatly appreciated
O man another intake question. Ok search for BFI. It is the best proven intake for our cars. At most it will only cost $50 and will outperform the injen. The injen isn't worth the $200 bucks although it does make the engine bay look nice! Also search for JspecSC3's custom intake he made, it is SWEET! Nevermind here is the link https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...ghlight=intake .

Anyone that tells you an intake (ALONE) has this type of effect on your car obviously has ZERO knowledge of automobiles. My advise is to run as far away from the person who told you that and never speak with them again!
i would like to see dyno proven results that a bfi out performs the injen any one that knows anything about cars would never make this statement unless having dyno sheets to back it up.
had bfi on my dads sc400 then went to the injen.. imo much better worth the extra money .. you decide i guess it depends on what your going for. im not going to argue that cost effective comparative to hp gains the bfi is going to win obviously but saying the bfi makes more power
Start here and read why you need a resonator chamber and what volumetric effeciency is:
(Also, go through all the links. You'll find the dyno info you're looking for)
it is proven that aftermarket filter do flow better than oem and i know what volumetric efficiency is.
the factory tubing creates turbulance in the airflow due to the design and aftermarket straight tubing is the most effective flow creating no disturbance. end of story. i also see no actual dyno results on peters page. i will gaurentee you that you will see greater improvement on a dyno with the injen intake over a bfi

I've never seen this info. Please post your sources.

This is a part of the reason why a resonator chamber is used.

I'll give you this one. I hadn't been to this section of planetsoarer in about 2 years and it appears that links to dyno and other tests are now dead. But there was a link to dyno results of OEM filter vs K&N vs Apexi vs others. OEM (used in BFI setup) prevailed.
15HP my butt. Me and Scott (kisoarer) proved that an open intake system yeilds 5hp over stock. Thats the best bang for the buck ever. Free. Quit trying to mod a 170 rwhp motor with $2-300 dollar intake systems for 3hp. With all the money you spend in performance mods for a 2jzge you'll still run high 15s in the 1/4mi and get beat by Civics. Save ur $$ and get a turbo
