SC430 & Kids
Hey guys, I just recently sold my SC300 3 weeks ago and always been a fan of the SC430's . I was just wondering, how many of you guys with SC430's have children? and is there enough leg room for them? I also have a 2oo4 Infiniti G35 Coupe and a 3 year old Daugher. Its pretty tight back there but I know the SC is smaller. Is it possible for you that have kids post pics up with them in the backseat? My girlfriend just purchased a 2oo7 Honda Pilot so she's letting me get another toy since Im done paying for my G! I plan on getting a used 03-04 SC and be apart of the family again
here's a quick shot of my G35

I have a 2006 PB sc430. I regularly pickup the kids from school if the weather is nice. It's a 40 minute trip home from school ( Don't ask, it's a long story ) My son is 13 and 5'9. He sits up front. My daughter is ten and sits behind him. We have the 2 position passenger seat selector set for all the way back for my wife and position 2 is a compromise for the kids. The seat is forward about 8 ". Enough for my daughter to put her legs in and feet under the seat. The seat sits back a little. With the top down it feels more roomy that it probably is. She never complains. With top up it feels tight but I think the kids like the car so much it doesn't matter. They do miss the video system on wifes SUV but otherwise no whining. If you had more kids or older kids I think it would be VERY tough fit. We have taken THE CAR to soccer games with all four of us sandwiched in but that is a much shorter ride. In summary, you can get 4 people in the car, top down for short rides, 3 people for longer rides ( I need my seat back). I hope this helps

This was a big question for me before I got my SC430 last month. I did a lot of reseach on the Internet. Going to the dealer and sitting in the car is one thing, but living with it day in and day out is another. IMHO the car is for two adults or one adult and two kids.
My seven year old has no problem in the back with sister in the front.
Zeebedee said it exactly like I would, including the two-position seat which makes the transition so easy. The kids have never even mentioned it as an issue.
Plus it probably doesn't hurt when her school friends say, "Wow, cool car!!"

I purchased this car as a 2 seater only with no expectations otherwise and in fact would prefer to remove the rear seats and put in some sort of storage area similar to my prior 968 cab.
That said, I can fit 3 in the car; 2 adults up front and one child behind the passenger. No kid can fit behind me as the seat is back too far; me being 6'0".
As for the car seat, yes , in the passenger side only with the seat all of the way up forward and only certain car seats will fit. My Britax will not fit but we never would put him back there anyhow as the wife cannot fit behind me to watch him.

I have a 13 y/o who is about 140 pounds and 5'8". He pretty much has to sit sideways. He really likes being in the car so he does not complain. I don't like him sitting sideways though because the leather gets dirtied. I have the white leather.
I have had this car for 4 months and it has largely turned into a 2 seater for us.

I wouldnt have more then 3 people in that car because the backseat is so small. The person in the back could sit sideways or you can have the passenger push his seat all the way up to the point where his/her knees are near the dash (not that safe). I was really close to purchasing this car myself, I did alot of homework on it but the back seat played a huge part in my decision. Then again if I would of stumbled across a forest green sc with birdseye maple interior, I would of bought it in a heartbeat

to be honest, its impossible to seat someone comfortably in front while allowing a passenger in the back to have room too.
We use the backseats for random stuff lol briefcases, and my backapck
