6 Piston Rotora Front Brakes Installed
I have had these on for a while now, but only now am getting around to posting as the brakes still had some more breaking in to do and wanted some real feedback to share.
For those that recall, I installed the rear 14.2" Rotora 4 pistons a while back and needed these to balance the brakes.
After a thorough cleaning they were stripped , applied 4 coats of caliper red, caliper sticker, and protected it with 4 coats of clear to keep things nice and glossy. Had to match the rear brakes you know.
As for braking-MAGNIFICENT! I tell you guys, if any of you fellow SC430 owners want to take it for a spin, your welcome to as this car is leaps and bounds ahead in terms of performance and the brakes now match the rest of the chassis. Front and Rear BBK is the one way ticket to braking Xanadu.
Braking from 100 really does have an effect on your eye *****. Even half pressure gives a very pronounced ,"G" effect while decelerating that the front TT brakes could not approach ,never mind the stock binders. Pedal feel is very hard and excellent for brake modulating-very controlled.
My Porsche 928 and 944 turbo with their fronts and rear 4 piston Brembos did not touch this setup in the braking category and I thoroughly enjoyed those brakes.
I highly recommend these brakes as they not only work great, they are flat out sexy.
The other day while waiting at the ridiculously long (time wise) checkout at Best Buy I noticed a young guy kneeling down at my car to check the brakes out. His girlfriend/wife just could not understand as she stood and waited for him. I know exactly how he was feeling as your eyes go directly to the brakes when looking at the car.
These are a bit $$$$. I just waited for some good deals to pop up in the classifieds section , then picking both front and rear up for less than $3000.00. The fronts only had 2k miles on them.
For a new front and rear setup , they go for just under $5k so the savings was well spent on other mods for the car.
Install is hassle free. They just mount right up. One must be careful with the wheels though as clearance is tight in there and I can just see a tire kid dropping the rim top of the caliper.
They match my rears nicely:

In a word... Nice.....
I think the worst thing that Lexus did to us is not give our cars the brakes it deserves for the price and the class that this car is in. You can even get nice brakes on an IS now..
But this almost makes it better, cause I know I'm not going to be happy until I have atleast 4pot calipers and 14" rotors in the front.. So jealous...

But trust me, I've always loved BBKs and I will have a set of the SC before its gone... So jealous...

Just some updated pics. I would say they now fully broken in. The braking from high speed is very impressive.
I did run into one minor issue yesterday. I used a different leather conditioner which made my seats a bit slippery. While braking from 70, the brakes were so strong I actually slid forward in my seat. Had to rewipe my seats with some good ol Lexol.
