Default 3.76 LSD vs TC..

Okay guys, I know this topic has been BEATEN to death on pratically every forum.. Need to ask this for the sake of asking

1) I know the TC will MOST likely give you a CEL on a 430 engine...

2) If I get the LSD ALONE, can you REALLY feel a difference in pickup from a STANDSTILL? Before I shell out $$$ on the LSD, I want to be satisfied I will deifnately feel a big difference in pickup.. Not like installing an intake which you feel barely anything if any at all..

I really don't care about top end speed just a good strong launch from a dead stop.

Thanks guys for helping me out..

1) yes, very very likely

2) yes, you will get very different kill already. the extra 300rpm at most rpm helps a lot. the car will be quicker off the line. but that's IF you get 3.76. lsd will NOT help you to make the car quicker, it will only help on handling, if you push the car hard enough. otherwise LSD is nothing more than an item on the mod list. i have 3.76 lsd on my gs4, honestly i was only for the gearing

I suppose I will find out soon enough on the TC. Once I get moved into the new house I will break in the garage and install one or have Todd at TM install it if I can ever find time.

On the LSD, yes, you will notice the off the line improvement AND in the gears. TC only helps off the line and allows for quicker kick down. 3.76 gears are there through every gear you are in even on the highway.

HA HA, could be Henry. Moving further up North, not quit all the way up where you are but closer. Make for a nice pitstop for you when you come down. Garage is yours to park if you need a break from the drive.

Does the Supra Auto TT LSD fit into the SC's pumpkin or do you use the Supra's. And I'm assuming it's going to throw off the speedo as well. How is that addressed?

I figure when I throw a TRD dif. in my Supra that I'll drop the LSD in the SC...

just use the whole supra tt lsd with 3.76 gear. putting the lsd in the stock sc430 rear (3.26) doesn't make sense imho.

speedo won't be off. it looks at the revolutions at the wheels. unless you get overspec wheels like some of us, your speedo is fine

Cool, isn't technology great?

I would be inclined to just sway in the viscous LSD because it would cost me nothing but labor if I put a TRD LSD in my Supra. If it doesn't fit in there, then I'd look at other options. I'd love to feel the seat of the pants difference, but wouldn't want to hurt the gas mileage that much if it is greatly effected.
