Opening Garage Doors
Well, despite the fact that my wife is a computer scientist, she can't seem to program the darn opener to operate the security gate for our sub-division! Even the garage door itself was less than easy, though she did eventually suceed. She followed the same various procedures for the security gate (just a normal security gate control system), as described in the manual. Still, no joy.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Any advice on how to solve it?
Cheers,
Jim Herd

for older openers without rolling code, just press the remote opener and one of your lexus home link bottons simultaneously for 30 seconds or so.
hope this helps.
With my old opener, I quickly put the same code into all 3 buttons, just so I could push any one of them when I was really drunk and still open the door. With the new one, however, I was pushing "train" buttons on the opener itself and then in the car, and it took quite a while to get that code onto just one button. It would only take on the center button, but after that I did get one of the other buttons programed to turn on the lights, which is a feature I never use. (What's that for, anyway? The lights go on when the door goes up, and there's even a motion sensor on the wall button which turns on the lights when I just walk into the garage from the basement. I just can't figure out why I would want to turn on the lights inside the garage when I'm outside, other than just because I can.)
But I digress. My suggestion is to keep trying it with the different buttons in the car, because they may be receptive to memorizing codes differently. It makes no sense, and I may be generalizing from insufficient experience, but that's my story and I'm sticking with it.
Good luck.
then while the car is in the garage (make sure the garage door is clear), press on the learn button on the motor, and then press the button that you programmed. it will work
