Hey guys I was just trying to set the controls for garage door and gate opener in my car. I was able to get the gate opener button set, just gotta test it out to make sure it works tomorrow, but was unable to get the garage door opener control working. I was sitting in the garage trying to do this. Do you have to be far away from the garage in order to set it? Anyone know?
What kind of garage door opener do you have? Do you know if it is a rolling code one?
That I do not know. I will find out tomorrow. All I know about the GD opener is that it came with the house when it was built summer of 05. I remember reading about that rolling code but didnt think anything of it.
i have a non-rolling code garage door opener and I've been to my Lexus dealership twice and they still cant figure it out. I've messed with it for at least 30minutes but my arms got sore by pressing up that button for that long. I couldn't figure it out on my Volvo S60R either and neither could the dealership (but both dealership insists its programmed).... so I just gave up. tempted to get a gay-dee-em sunglasses holder instead if it wasn't like 100bucks.
Sounds like you have a rolling code. Once you program your button, press the learn button on the garage door opener, and within 30 seconds come back and press the original button intended to be programed. That should program the transmitter to learn the code
thanks typeII, I've always wanted to that to my gs400 when I first bought, but I was such a slouch and thought that it was too confusing. That link you posted helped me sync my car to the garage door in less than a min
