Lexus SC430 Diecast Model
Hi, I'm new to the board. I purchased a 2002 Black/Ecru Lexus SC430 last week (upgraded from a 1998 Honda Accord...big upgrade for me). Anyway, I love the car, but I'd like to have a model to have at my desk to look at during the day since I work so long I don't get to see my car all that much during the daylight.
I've searched the threads and haven't seen my specific question answered. I'd like to purchase any scale (preferable 1:24, 1:18, or 1:12 size) diecast model in Black/Ecru combination with a working top (i.e., one that folds back into the trunk). Also, I want it to look OEM, not with funky rims or tricked out in anyway (I'm not much of a tuner...I'm one of those who sticks religiously with OEM parts...even OEM carwash...which is probably silly).
I've found this one: http://www.ehobbies.com/dc-mai-31658b.html
and this one: http://store.yahoo.com/parkplacelexus/noname5.html (which may be the same as the one above)
and they come close but neither fit the bill (movable top)
Anyone have any ideas?

Haha, I'm only interested in diecast models for cars I can't really afford like a Ferrari or a Carrera GT. Since I already have a real SC430, a diecast model doesn't really appeal to me, I've rarely seen one of any model that is a really good representation of the real car.

This May Work
I just found this model, which doesn't show the hardtop moving, but a similar model does, so I'm thinking this may work: http://diecaststation.com/product.asp?id=14847

They are out there, or at least they used to be, because I have one in black/ecru with the operating top. Also, the doors and the hood open.
I found it on Ebay back in 2002 shortly after I got the car, and it did not cost very much -- maybe in the $25.00 range.
Unfortunately, I have no idea of the name of the company that makes it, but if I can find any info I will post it here.
In the meantime, all I can suggest is spend some time on Google and Ebay and keep looking.
PS: Mine is not for sale.

AutoArt
AutoArt was the maker of the diecasts I have for the GS, IS and RX. I am almost certain that they made the SC as well, but I did not have any luck finding one at www.replicarz.com. I received mine thru Lexus Dealer training events (my wife works there).

www.maisto.com Check for products (1:18 assembly line models). They have the SC 430 in black, silver, etc. for about $20.
While the retractable top is down, the doors, trunk and hood open and close.
I bought a silver model with ecru interior at a dealership for $42 = rip-off. Get it from Maisto for only $20.
