Figs Engineering
Hey all,
Since my adventures in installing the MeisterR ZetaSport Coilovers on my '07, SC, I've been waiting for the replacement Megan Racing pieces to get restocked at CoilOver Depot.
The concern with all this type (aftermarket) of stuff is, am I trading one problem for another?
Out of curiosity, I went looking at similar products at Figs Engineering.
They build to suit, so there is a 3-4 week lead time, but all their stuff looks significantly more robust than any of the other aftermarket stuff.
The big tradeoff is cost. The Figs stuff is nearly twice the price of the other stuff. However, Figs is here in the states, and based upon what I've read here, there are very supportive after the sale.
I'm leaning heavily toward just doing it, as the motto is "pay the price cry only once"....
Looking around here, there seem to be a goodly number of folks who have used Figs' parts.
So, I'm guess I'm looking for encouragement to just bite the bullet.
Cheers

I plan to do their refresher kit. Here is what I can tell you about building a car or a truck. Buy quality and pay once. Buying less can lead to buying twice, which in the end costs more.
Everything I've read about Figs leads me to believe they are the best route to take and my suspension and stance will be staying OEM.

I say Go for it, Chris 🙌
Seems to me you’ve done your due diligence researching it, so that’s my bit of encouragement.
You get what you pay for, as I always believe, and worth it. 👍
Doing it right the first time will always save you money in the long run

LOL!
Thanks for the encouragement. I am going to do it. I'll call them on Monday and see what the possibles are.
Cheers

Well got the order placed.
They refused to talk to me on the phone to discuss what I was wanting to do.
I had to fill out the "customer inquiry" thing.
The initial e-mail was fairly helpful.
After that, it was like when I used to talk to my teenager. We called it 20 questions.
I ask a question and get a virtually one word answer, volunteering no information whatsoever.
Would have MUCH to talked with whoever on the phone.
Oh well,

Oh well,
Just like MeisterR. Place an order, and then:
crickets
Why is this so hard?
A little feedback would go a long way.....
Perhaps you well get a shipping date after your order is made. I would bet this is true forsure if you ordered stuff that is adjustable.
But again I'm guessing.
I'm an electro-mechanical engineer. My entire career was in making absolutely certain that what I built (or had built) was fit for purpose. And yes, that meant double checking my design data.
I went with Figs, at twice the price of the Megan gear, because I thought there would be a higher lever of service.
Surprise...

Unfortunately, some businesses aren't managed properly. Great product drives the business so they don't bother with customer relations. The next contact you'll have from them probably is the email saying they were shipped.
