Best Radiator replacement SC400
Hi All,
What’s the best most efficient radiator to get when replacing the OEM Denso unit on a 1991 UZZ31 (now supercharged). One that will drop in.
Available in the UK please, I don’t want to pay a fortune for shipping!
I also want your opinions on replacing the fans with electric ones.
So many options….

I think the go-to radiator upgrade for most SC's and Soarers is the Koyo or Mishimoto radiator for the Supra MKIV. However the SC400 (and Soarer V8) fan shroud requires custom modifications to it or custom brackets for it to bolt up if you have retained a factory mechanical or hydraulic cooling fan on your 1UZ.
Also ALL aftermarket radiators for the SC/Soarer 1JZ/MKIV Supra are for manual transmission applications so if you have an automatic you will need to add your own transmission fluid cooler.
I know of no direct bolt-in aftermarket radiator upgrade specifically designed for the SC400/Soarer V8 but these threads may give you an idea of how to go about adapting an MKIV style radiator for your SC400.

Whatever cooling fan system you use, make sure your fans have proper shrouds. The Titan Motorsports (USA but can ship) custom fan shroud for mounting OEM Lexus IS300 dual OEM electric cooling fans is the best all-electric cooling fan solution you will find. Highly durable for long term use, Toyota/Lexus OEM quality, heavy duty cycle fans.

We'd love to see pictures of your turbocharged SC400! I am certain you have one of a very few in the UK since you've got a LHD model!

I think there’s only two or three of us in the UK that are supercharged. If you look on the old lextreme pages about London Bills and Smiffies supercharged Soarer, thats the very one I now have, obviously with new internals and bearings fluid etc. An original C’s Eaton M90 off a Celsior that Smiffie, aka Soarer Sanctuary, imported and transplanted into Bills old Soarer. I now have a new engine, built from bare block up. It’s only done 800 miles so far, and am working through the last of the snagging list. Will post the build pics on another thread soon when it’s all done.
