Reverse lights

It appears that your Inhibitor Switch on the transmission left the chat, and in need of a replacement. To check it, go under the car and locate the switch, marked 84540 on this diagram, then disconnect it, see if the light will switch off. If so, refer to the pinout below, Pin 9 is a 12V supply, and Pins 1-8 are your dash lights; shorting Pins 9 and 5 should result in your "D" light coming on the cluster, if so, the switch is definitely bad and in desperate need of retirement.
As for the Reverse lights, diagnose them only after you work out the situation with the Inhibitor Switch. I do have a record of taking half of the car out because of burnt out bulbs, and I am here to tell that it was anything but fun.. From the height of a painfully acquired experience, I would suggest you to start by checking your bulbs, make sure to either power them or at least check continuity, if those are good, use a test light to check if you do have power coming to the pigtail. If there is no power, check the 10A GAUGE fuse, if it is okay, the issue is somewhere in the wiring between your Back-Up lights and the Inhibitor.
Hope this helps and best of luck!
