Default Climate cluster lights

Hello, I have an 03 ES300 base. I was attempting to install a new center console light, when it shorted out. I now have no Night time climate cluster lights, ashtray lights, or shifter handle light- along with no power to where I soldering in the console. I pulled every single fuse and not one is bad either behind the coin box or under the hood, and played swap around the relays. Only when I turn the headlights all the way off is only the LCD for the climate cluster lit. I still have dash lights... I checked the bulb for the shifter and it's not blown, which leads me to believe a fuse did protect the bulbs, but I don't know where it is. Right now it's just a nuisance to not have the climate and shifter lit up at night. Any help would be great!!

I have the same issue, but mine happened while trying to fix the mess the previous owner had made while trying to install an aftermarket stereo, all my fuses are good, console lights up with headlights off, but no ashtray or shifter lights either, hope somebody can answer this!

I figured out the problem. Took it to metro Toyota, and the tech told me there is a computer that controls all the dash lights (floor light, climate cluster, ashtray, console, factory radio). You will need to replace your instrument cluster! I replaced mine off of instrumentusterstore(dot)com. When you change the cluster- your odometer reading is burnt into it. This place will change it to your correct miles for 75 or 100 bucks. I had mine sent out in 3 days for 175$. Installation is pretty easy, and now all my lights work again!

Can the original be repaired? All of my other lights work! I'm still working on the theory I have not connected a wire that completes the circuit to the ashtray and gear shifter lights as these are the only ones not working, but they do work when the lights are off!
