so to clarify that I have a short to ground on this circuit, I have been trying to trouble shoot the short all day with no luck as I’m flying blind on what components go to this circuit.

ruled out the antenna and the whole area to the rear of the car as the short is situated somewhere towards the front. I did this by finding the wire from the fuse box that correlates to the rear harness testing it for continuity. The short to ground was still present with this wire undone. Car is very well taken care of and there is no visible signs of burnt wires or connectors.
car also has a new reman ECU if that helps any. Car runs fine but has what most have described before with the windows not working, shift lock doesn’t disengage, abs light on, power steering dead.

battey and alternator are also good.

unplugged window motors, switches, basically everything on the door. Shift lock solenoid, radio, A/C controls, abs module and pump. Pretty much anything that was hinted to have a relationship with this fuse. Replaced brake light switch just Incase that has any effect on all of this.

I really just need to know what components are wired to this circuit so I can eliminate them to find which has shorted to ground.

yes I have searched for hours for wire schematics or like threads with no real luck but the link to the problem being with the antenna.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since this problem seems to go Un answered after all my searches except for two where they found a short in the rear of the trunk going to the antenna figure I post what I’ve learned.

so your offending wire is black with red stripe and a single silver dot, this is the ECU-IG wire.

it goes to
antenna in the trunk
cell phone crap in the trunk
belt tensioners in the quarter in the rear seat.
shift lock ECU in the middle of the dash
power steering ECU and fan ECU both next to each other passenger side dash.
ABS ECU passenger side floor.
cruise control ECU under dash driver side by steering column.

My short to ground is somewhere in the engine compartment, looking at the wire-diagram currently to find exactly what’s shorted. With this plug pulled my short to ground disappears, currently have no clue what this plug is for but when I do figure it out I’ll post back.

Pic of wire and plug, would anyone know what this junction is for in the passenger side kick panel?

Any idea which wire is shorting in particular? There are a lot of wires there. Check out these attachments, looks like the connector is BX1

thats a huge help, might I ask where you found these? I’ve been staring at pro on demand for hours and have not come across these schematics.

In gotta check the continuity but I’m pretty sure it’s black/red with the silver dot. I didn’t actually check the continuity from the fuse block but I just assumed it’s the same as that’s the color of the wire attached in the rest of the car. If it is the wire to the seat belt tensioner at least it’s nothing crucial to operation of the car. Crappy part is that I did unplug both of them before so with the short to ground still present. Pulling the plug in the picture solved the short to ground, now I just gotta figure out what has failed on the other side of that.
