Default Transmission fluid levels

Hi, I have just bought a 95 sc400. My trans fluid needs to be checked. Unfortunately no owners manual. Does my car need to be in park or neutral? To get the proper reading.

You have to drive the car to warm up the fluids, the park on a level surface, move the shifter through gears from park to the lowest and back to park. Leave the car running and check the fluids. Trans fluid is checked with the car in park and engine running.
If you are going to do a drain and fill measure the amount of fluid that comes out and refill with the same amount.
It is recommended to use Toyota transmission fluid.
