Default What LED light bulb fits?

I just bought the 19 LED turn signal bulb for the turn signals, but they don't fit the SCs. Would the 15 LED bulbs fit better? Should I even bother? Any input?

Stick with halogens...don't bother with LEDs on any exterior lighting.

To answer your question, yes, the 15 LED bulb will fit, but you'll need a 6 ohm power resistor to make the flasher work properly (unless you like the superfast blinking ) I'm using the amber LED up front and the red LED in the rear and am quite happy with them. They don't show any color through my cleared lenses when turned off. Let me know if you need a place to get the resistors from.

Installing the resistor is dead easy. I used a couple of T-connectors to tap into the existing signal light wires, then you connect the resistor between the + and - wires. This will not only fix the fast blink, but will cure the dash warning light as well . Just make sure you get a high wattage resistor (like 50 watts!) and mount it where it won't burn anything. They can get pretty hot!

I'll take some pics of the resistors, but it will take me a while to get them posted as I don't have a digicam.

As for where to get the resistors, try :
DirectAuto.com

or

TruBlue Motorsports

As for LED's, be careful on eBay. Not all LEDs are created equal! Shop around and check out:
DirectAuto LED's
LEDTronics

or

TrueBlue Motor Sports

Bottom line is: Shop around and do some research before you plunk down you $$

Hey Wmulli,

This was great information. It seems like there is a big difference in quality and price. What ones did you go with?

Siniquezu,

Thanks for the offer. I just bought the silver bulbs off ebay for the turn signals - I didn't even know there was such an easy LED replacement product. I think I'll wait a few months on this though. I would like to see a few reviews by CL members and it looks like prices are still falling.

BTW, I see no reason why the resister couldn't be incorporated into the "bulb" assembly. This would make it even easier for us to install, but would increase the number of SKUs and manufacturing costs, so we may not see them for a while (I also don't know what the effect of heat dissipation from the resister would have right next to the LED). I may want to wait and just replace all the tail lights and front turn signals at once - right now that is north of $400, so I really want to see what these prices do.

Hey Siniquezu, I know we still need to get together, my car is like 98% done, I should be good within the next two weeks.
