first thing first
I couldnt get in there enough turn it. So instead i just spent 5 minutes disconnecting the power steering hose from under the car and pulled the damn pump out lol. Now ive got all the free range (and my vise
to get this bolt out on my own terms. And yea your right it is a banjo i was just working in super low light. Thanks for all the help guys im not removing the bolt and I have a pump and a reseal kit. Im off for the next 2 days so im going to be adventurous and rebuild the oump first just for fun. If it fails in anyway ill just swap it out with the new pump. (Reseal kit was only $27, i was buying plugs anyway so i figured why the heck not)
Tranny issue: i believe I idle around 700 ill make a video as requested tonight. I do notice that it takes a second or two for it to idle down below 1000 when i shift from p to r to n to d. Which i did notice that when i was in between shifts and let it idle down for a second or two the shift is much easier. I think you are on to somethjng here. Ill make a startup video after i finish the pump today hopefully.
**Holy crap this main shaft is impossible to get out without a slide hammer. I've ALWAYS used one in the past...... I'm going to try something..."unconventional" let's say. If it works I will post pictures, you guys have to swear not to laugh...if this works its gonna be epic lol**

is there any possibility that the main shaft in the steering pump could be seized or stuck in there for good? I broke down and just wrnt and got a slide hammer andit still wont budge. I have never heard of it being stuck like this. Ive banged with the slide hhammer for the last 20 mins and theres not even any play. (And yes i know how to use a slide hammer lol)
**update...nevermind I got it...not with the slide hammer but with my original method. Ill post pics tonight**

So I rrbuilt the pump but the pulley shaft is harder to turn now. Bearings and shaft spin just fine when outside of the pump. But once the shaft goes into the housing the further it goes the harder it is to turn. Once all assembled i can turn it but its noticably harder than before. (Dont know if it was just more loose before because it was dead or if i messed up the rebuild.)
I disasembled and reassembled but still same thing. Any suggestions?

did you install a new bearing in the pump as well?
When I rebuilt my pump the existing bearing turned somewhat fine. But I replaced it anyway. Once I bought the new bearing it turned far more easily than the existing bearing. And I never would have known unless I bought the new bearing. the new bearing was $10-$12 at a mom/pop parts store. Autozone did not have it.

That is literally the only thing i did not replace. It spun fine iut of the pump.
When i put it in the pump initially it still spins then as the shaft is about halfway in it starts being harder to spin. I dissasembled and reassembled AGAIN since i wrote the post. I was extremely meticulous even told my fiance to go to her friends house cause i moved the pump and everything into tge kitchen so i could be sure i could take my time and go over every step like 5 times. Same thing still.
I guess my next question would be how much damage do you think it would do if i just put ut back on and see?
Worst case scenario ill just take it to a shop and pay for the labor to reseal it and just watch them.

well if you put al new seals in and the bearing completely fails, then the pump will have to rebuilt with a new bearing, and also another seal kit. I would buy a new bearing, and install it. It would suck to have to do it all over again just because of a $8-12$ part. Just take the old bearing to an auto parts warehouse store. they will look up the numbers on the old bearing's side and give you one on the spot(a true parts store that is).
