Transmission - front pump
My 1998 LS 400 with 213,000 miles has a front pump in the transmission that is going bad and it started making noise when coming to a stop and while stopped. Has anyone had experience with fixing this problem and what did you do?

And it is the only pump. In the old days there was a rear pump too. It was very nice as you could push start your automatic transmission car, I did it a few times, sure miss that, just nothing like progress and modern engineering.
It could be low fluid level, plugged screen, and anything that allows it to suck in air. Not saying it can't be bad but those transmissions will go 300,000 miles and maybe more so look for the simple things first.
