Raising the back portion of the SC hood is difficult cause of the fender overlay that rests on top of the hood hinge where it bolts to the cars upper frame. In addition, the hood "finishes" with the door line, and would look horrid.

Im going to guess your either in AZ/NV/TX area and I can understand about the heat, but unless your running boost and have poor airflow from the front of the car, its really not an issue. You can remove the rubber strip on the front (in front of the engine) and the back (behind the engine) of the engine bay. This will help slightly, but not enough to make any noticeable difference.

Read through this, very interesting read. You'll really reconsider if hood spacers help or not. http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/garag...swer-here.html

Granted all of this was done at 67 degrees F but the results none the less gives a lot to think about.

Come drive mine, you will feel much better. No a/c, no carpet, not floor coatings, no door panels or interior. Just the dash with nothing behind it, steering wheel, 2 seats and a roll cage...in Texas

Fix your AC or get a carbon fiber Seibon vented hood.

These cabins run pretty hot, but have you measured your vent temperature? I finally resolved my unpleasantly hot interior (113 degree "cold" air) by replacing a bad heater control valve actuator that was allowing hot coolant to circulate at all times.

Seems to me you have a roll bar, not a cage. In any case, its good to see these cars being tracked. Its hard to find info that is track relevant here. I assume by your tire choice this is mostly for drag?

Raising the hood, even if you could do it, would only cool the engine bay in very low speed situations.
Since doing my hood vent I have noticed cooler temps, not that the 1J really got crazy hot ever though.
