Having trouble getting my double din installed into my car
The plugs are different on the cars harness vs older sc year models and the metra harness doesn't fit
What have some of y'all done to make it work , imagine someone's put a radio in this year model
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Generally speaking, you need to get the matching half to either your stereo or car's harness and splice that onto the other end of what you've got now. You'll want to get wiring diagrams for your year and whatever year you're pulling the harness from.

But before cutting up harnesses, it's worth searching for part numbers across years to determine if there's an adapter available.

You could save a whole lot of time and trouble by letting a professional audio shop do it for less then $60. PC Richards did mine for $35, another audio shop did mine for $55... That includes taking the center console apart, removing old stereo, putting in the new one, and all...

I'm not wanting to pay a shop to do so
I'm capable of doing it I just need more insight
This year model has a different factory plug on the harness then any other older year model sc
has anyone put one in their 99 or 2000 sc and do you have the factory wiring diagram layout?

I just put my tge and single setup on so I don't have the car running yet , taking it somewhere isn't an option

Just went through this with my 1998 SC400.

Which Metra harness doesn’t fit? There are two.

For 1999, my understanding is to use Metra 70-8112. The other harness typically used on other SCs, depending on whether there is an amp in there, is Metra 70-1761.
