my LS400 passed with flying colors, BUT my SC400 was WAAAAAY under test limits, the car runs very low emisions, thats when i got the car too, ive done maintanence to it since then.
If you have an unmodded car and properly maintained car, I don't see why you would fail. (Just to the general public)
We've had a 1991 4cyl Camry with 320 000km on it, and we didn't even worry about it going in for the test. It came out with flying colours.
Our 92 sc4 and 92 Previa both with over 230 000km pass with flying colours.

On a different note, before you go in for your test, always drive your car on the highway for at least ~20 mins, until your exhaust system has full warmed up and is processing all of your fuel.
Dallas, TX now requires emissions testing once per year. I had my 93 - SC300 tested with 105,000 miles, new dist. cap and rotor, and about 50k on the plugs. The HC at idle was 5 ppm, and 7 at cruise. I believe that the standard is 220. The CO was 0 for both speeds. The O2 was 0 at idle and 0.8 at cruise. Inspections here cost $39
thought that was impressive...... here are my numbers before i had mines tuned up and all maintenance done...... was when i first got the car to get registered under my name and when all maintenance had to be done to it
HC PPM (2500 RPM)

and this was all before i had a new timing belt installed, water pump, idlers and front crack seal as well as the cleaning of the throttle body which they found to have a lot of carbon buildup.
LexAnt (Amazed beyond belief)
P.S. Does this mean we can mod our cars to give out a lil bit more and not worry bout emissions too much here in cali?
