Default Setting up subs in 95' SC300

I had wanted to use my infinity basslink subwoofer in the trunk of my 95 SC300. I realize this could be a problem due to the placement of the gas tank, which isolates the trunk from the cabin. I was thinking that if I were to remove the stock free-air sub from the middle of the rear deck it would provide enough airflow to get some good bass into the cabin. The subwoofer is a 200 watt, 10 inch. I'd really appreciate anyones thoughts on possible placement of the speaker to get the maximum amount of low-end out of it, even if that means putting it somewhere other than the trunk.

here is a link to the subwoofer I'm looking to install:

I put my sub woofer firing up through where the stock sub was. Anything firing off of glass sounds better to me. I say put in several configurations while playing the same song to see where it sounds best. JMO. Keep in mind all boxes, enclosures, etc will sound different in every trunk and car.

It is possible to route wirings through holes that are located on firewall which separates trunk from cabin. By removing stock sub, bass will be channeled to the cabin better. However, depending on where the signals are collected from for your amplified sub, you may experience slight delay in bass response. Additionally, at 200 watt, you may not feel/hear any improvements over the stock free air sub unless it is worn/broken.

Good luck and post your result when completed!

I have had a Basslink, and was extremely far from being impressed with its performance, and this was in both an MK1 MR2 behind the passenger seat, and in my Z31. You would be better off with a single 10'' sub and a 300w+ amp with a sealed box. Removing the factory sub will channel the sound like everyone has said, also on the carpet between the fuel tank and the rest of the trunk, there is some baffling material on the back side, remove that and it will help with sound/air flow.
