What do you guys think is the interior sound of an SC compared to, say, an LS. Sometimes I think, under partial throttle going 10-45mph, my car is too loud. I mean, I don't hear the outside noise but I definitely hear the engine and exhaust. It is quiet at idle but gets pretty loud when I start pulling out. I remember driving an LS and it was really quiet inside while moving. But it was a long time ago, I could be wrong.
By the way, I am not bothered by the noise. I think the exhaust noise is pretty cool.. I was just curious how the other SCs are.
stock, my sc definitely had a much throatier exhaust note than the ls. as soon as i got the car i replaced the stock airbox so i dont remember how that sounded, but the stock exhaust (once rev'd up) sounds pretty good imo. the sc was designed as a luxury/sport coupe, where as the ls was designed as a luxury sedan. in fact, thats what the two letters stand for in every model (or at least originally, when lexus first started out): ES = Executive Sedan, LS = Luxury Sedan, SC = Sport Coupe. i dont think they go by that moniker anymore, what with the *X suv names and such.
I would say it has to do with the nature of the car, the sc is more oriented towards the performance side < dare to say sports hehe> while the LS was for the ppl looking for a big nice luxury car..
yea I agree, LS is much quieter. I guess SC as sport coupe vs LS as lexury family sedan. but I can't complain with 10yr sc
one question, what is GS? G--- Sedan..I always wonder..
GS = Gran Sedan. If you think your SC is loud now, just strip out the carpetting, subpanels, and seat cushions. You have no idea just how loud the SC can really be without all that sound dampening material. I just took all that stuff out today to lay in some more Dynamat.
