Engine light came on, so I did the paper clip method to retrieve the code. I got 27, I did not get a blinking Trac Light, my car does not have traction control. However the O/D light was blinking when I ran the jumper wire.
I read on past threads that the sub-sensors are really not that complex as the main O2's and that they should not go bad. They just merely test the oxygen quality in the cataylic converter. Question is, if I am getting a warning code from the sensor, is it usually the sensor that is faulty or do I really have a worn out cataylic converter that I should be paying attention too.
I do not want to shell out for a new sub-sensor if the problem lies in the cataylic converter and not the sensor.
The car is a 92 SC400 with 118,000 miles. I do not have any visible holes or tears in the cats, or any bad odor exhaust being emitted.
Any advise or thought would greatly be appreciated!!!
