Default my new 1jzgte project

Hey guys, been in the SC game for a while now and just recently sold my 00 sc3 for a 1jzgte... since I'm not familiar with this motor and new to the turbo scene. What kind of motor oil do you guys use for this motor. I'm running 10lbs of boost on stock twin turbos. I'm currently in college so I won't be upgrading anything yet. I purchased 5w-30 mobil1 fully synthetic motor oil but I wanted to make sure before I put it in. Yes, i searched he forum and couldn't find an exact answer. Any tips, advice, on my new project would be appreciated guys. My next question is where can I get a hose coupling from because the one I have on there is flexible and I'm loosing boost.

That oil weight is fine, 10w30 is stock oil, I believe. The turbo outlet is 2.25" so you'll need a coupler that size, to whatever size your piping is. Also get some T-bolt clamps in the correct size too.

Welcome back to the real world in boosting... That weight is fine. They are better oils types out there in the same weight, IMO. I personally Castrol or Royal Purple.

That metal line sometimes pushes out causing the car to hesitate or cutoff. I believe its a vacuum line. Any ideas on how to keep it in place?

The metal itself or the line, or a combination of the two? If the rubber line is the issue, then put a clamp on it or a good zip tie.

Its the metal line itself, just seems as it came apart. I put some high degree epoxy on it to let sit overnight. Was the only thing I can really think of for now.

JB weld or get an aftermarket blow off valve to replace your stock one.

For all the turbo guys,
Just need to know since I just got the car recently, is there any I should maintain besides the normal stuff. I guess what I'm really asking is there any maintenance to do to the turbos? What else should I get into maintaining so everything runs smooth?

What would be the best spark plugs and wires to replace on this 1j swap? I'm having some ignition issues I believe, (while idling, it gets low but never cuts off. Its hesitating when I drive like its choking. Like a foul plug or something. The car is a little rich though if that means anything. Should I get non-fouler plugs? Do they take the same plugs as the normal 2jzge engine that you buy in advance or autozone..? I'm on my mobile phone a lot and I can't get a lot of search results..

Use the cheapest NGK plugs. They are always the best out there in my book. You are going to get different reviews from personal opinions. Check the gap before install. I would say around .028 would be a great start.

OK guys so I got tired of the interior looking all nasty tan and beat up. So I decided to clean it up real good and give it a better look. I did the normal SEM routine. I should've took before and after pics. Anyways, what do you guys think? I need to do a couple of touch ups but not bad.

I have say a big difference but why didnt you take the time to do it right?

Not knocking the effort but I saw so many spots that needed more paint. Like shifter ****, inside the door panels, carpet in several spots, steering wheel, etc. The paint looks spotted in so many areas.

Did you remove any of the parts?

Parts were removed and I was battling against bad weather and light that happened in the process. I will redo over of course and since I had a limited number of cans (take forever to order).. I at least wanted to get most of sprayed.. but when I get more cans, I will do all over again. I'm glad I'm not the only one who notices the spots. Everyone that saw it liked it in person.
