Default Ground Wire Replacement

Hey guys I have a question and please for give me if it sounds stupid. I have put together my own 4 gauge ground wiring kit. I want to know what do I do with the factory ground wires that are in the black electrical tape? Leave them hanging, cut them out or connect both the new kit to the old ground points. Please advise Please!!!!

What did you do? fabricate the kit to replace the stock grounds?

Its all up to how you "put together" your kit, I made a kit that went in addition to the stock grounds and has worked great thus far.

Please tell me exactly what you did. I have a 94 sc 300 after I wired mines up it started to act worst then before. The battery light did go out but then my electronics started to go hay wire. Radio went out and so did my head lights. Then car started running funny. I returned everything back to factory except the alternator wire. How do I add additional ground points correctly?

There are tons of additional grounding points you can use, Tell me exactly what YOU Did. why would you unhook all the stock grounds and such.... were you trying to completely replace them? if so youd have to make sure everything is properly grounded as stock and sounds like you didnt do that.

Use the search function there is info on this and exactly where to ground

I do this upgrade to most of the cars I own and definetly the ones I modified. IT is real easy to do so why not. I have a 2g wire running from battery to frame and another 2g from battery to motor. If I had another 2" of wire I woulda done another from motor to frame

mounting points are irrelevant as long as you sand paint for a good ground source.

SJ man... Ok what I did was unbolt and tape all of the factory ground points under my hood. ALT, Fire wall and the engine. Then I used the point to point connection method that I saw in a thread on CL.

This is the diagram I used but there are two things that I think caused my miss hap . First I own a 94 Sc 300 this digram is for a VVTI and secondly it does not elaborate on what exactly to do with the factory grounds. Thats why i just taped mines off. I know I just made a minor mistake but the QUESTION is WHERE?

I actually had sj408 make me some ground wires a while ago and they follow that same diagram. I left the factory ground wires bolted along with the new ones added on and it's been working great, not to mention I have a 95 sc300 so I don't think the VVTI matters.

the diagram is fine, you shouldnt have touched your stock grounds unless you were gonna replace them exactly how they were. this is to be installed in addition to the stock grounds, not as a replacement.
