Default Big3/Grounding Kit question

So I started out just wanting to construct a grounding kit for my car but then since the big3 is one more damn cable I figured do them both in one shot.

Long story short, here are my questions:

1. Do I need to reconnect the OEM negative cable to the battery or can I completely remove/replace it with 2 cables going to the fender ground and firewall ground? (doesn't it tie in to the fuse box somewhere?)

2. I started off using 4gauge for my grounding kit but most people use 2 or 1/0 for big3. I have 1 amp that draws maybe 500W max. Will I need to go heavier gauge for my ground cables? Obviously for alternator positive I will use thicker.

Thanks.

4awg will be fine. As for the factory ground, no dont need to connect it, its just a small like 6inch wire to the fender. With the Big 3 you either add or replace whats already there, the more the better. As for the alternator wire, no need for 0awg, thats overkill with such a small set up.
