Default 1/4 mile time.

Well I took my new to me stock SC400 out to the drag strip tonight and I must say it didn't do half bad. My best time was 16.09 @ 87 with a R/T of .343. I think I could have got into the high 15's with a little better R/T and a few better shifts 1st to 2nd. Any ways im pretty happy with that for now.

Surely your car is a bit faster than that, I would say at least a low 14 no? What did you trap at?

reaction time doesn't have anything to do with E.T.

The tranny is a stock automatic and the time it takes to shift from 1st to 2nd is horrible. The car hits the rev limiter at about 6200 rpm but I had to shift it at around 5000 or it would start hitting the rev limiter befor it would get to second.

Thanks for the help guys I will try those mods next weekend and see how it works. I also have a question. At the track what will give me the best et manualy shifting from low to second and drive or just putting it in Drive and letting the car do the shifting. It seemed to me when it was in Drive the car would shift faster from 1st to 2nd. And when I did the shifting it took longer.

reaction time doesn't matter unless you're bracket racing.

the time calculation starts when your car crosses the START line.

so you could sit there for 10 seconds and run a 16.0.

Car # 764
Ghetto BFI, Backseats and trunk gutted. Rear tires at 10psi. I was thinking it would have ran a little quicker then 15.2 since stock ran that much but my car has 191,000 original miles. I had a different launch for each run. 1st run was a neutral bomb at 2000rpm. 2nd was drive and go no power brake. The last two I did a power brake between 1500 and 2000. I would say the D got the best run. Neutral bomb would have been quicker if I had better tires but I don't recommend that kind of launch unless its just a toy and you got a ride to keep you on your A to B. The car never bounced off the rev limiter on any of the runs.

I did and I saw your question on that thread too. It's all explained there, read it better and do it.
