Default retrofit a remote trunk release?

Anyone know how to install a remote trunk release on the older SCs? I've seen a car on ebay that did it. I tried asking him but he didn't answer. I tried searching....nothing.
Thanks.

One of the guy I knew who has a Civic did that.
Think he just got it installed while he was getting his alarm done.
Shouldn't be very expensive

I have a trunk release on my Viper alarm. Alarms usually have the option for it, usually works with cars with electronic trunk release.

Sc400 is right, just buy a good alarm and you will have the option for a remote trunk release. And on top of that you get a good alarm. The factory alarm is cheeze.................

Actually, you don't even need a good alarm. Just one with an extra channel and get a trunk pop solenoid If you guys have an extra channel on your alarms, you might be able to hook the solenoid up to that channel. It just needs a pulse to engage.

siniquezu,

Are you wanting to use an alarm or factory keyremote to pop the trunk?

I want to use the one on the key. Is it possible to use the key without changing the alarm?

That is a whole different question than the one you asked.

To use the one on the key, you will need to utilize a switched relay to sense you unlocking the doors TWICE. Or some other extended trigger if allowed by the key.

For the most part....this is difficult and can cause issues leaving your trunk open on occasion.
