Question Car Alarm

I have a 98 LS400 with an unsual problem. Sometimes (about 1/2 the time) when I unlock my trunk by depressing the remote control button the alarm goes off. Of course, it doesn't go off if I unlock the car doors before unlocking the trunk.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!

Since nobody has replied and I do not know the answer either. I will move this thread into the Electronics forum and hopefully somebody will know what is going on.

The trunk is wired to the alarm. Opening it before disarming the alarm obviously would set it off. Sometimes even a shock sensor will trip when the trunk is opened.

If this is aftermarket, then you should be able to program it to not go off.

Isn't Factory and Stock the same thing?

Kinda like asking Factory, Stock, OEM, or the one that came with the car.

Thanks for your replies. The alarm is OEM, as far as I know.
