I have a 95 sc400. I took it yesterday and had new rear speakers installed at a shop.On my way home the stereo qu[t working then the ABS -Trac -control-and battery lights came on the dash. I stopped and shut the car off and it would not even try to start.Checked the battery and only had 7 volts. Put a new battery in and drove it home . Took it this morning and had it tested and was told alternator is bad.Any connection? thanks

 

Any oil leaks? I just went through this just a week ago...

 

No leaks. Why?

 

Might be just a old weak alt then...

 

9 times out of 10 the ps pump on these sc400's leak and destroy the alternators so as kingphilip said be 100% sure it's not leaking even just a little bit. but either contact aliga on here to buy a good used one or just rebuild it your self which there is a diy on here and it's super easy which is what I did for my sc400.

 

put a new alternator on and drov eit for a couple hours then the trac. control and check engine light came on , any ideas?

If it is your alt. the ALT light or pic. of a square red battery light would be on, not the CEL. That warning light is on the right hand side of the steering column on the dash.
