Default Please help on pricing this SC300

I found a 98 SC300 with 120k on it. The seller wants $3,800 for the car. But it has a rebuilt title. Base on the info and photos do you think that pricing is fair? Thanks

Dang that interior is sweet!
3800 is pretty good imo, why was it a rebuilt title? Theft recovery?

Its in decent shape, and the interior isn't bad and its got low miles. But the issue is, rebuilt titled cars go for alot less money because of the rebuilt title. Try to find out exactly why it has a rebuilt title before you buy it. What happened was, something happened to it, and instead of fixing it the owner just bought the car back from the insurance comapny and kept the money. Or the insurance company kept the car and sold it at auction and the dealership bought it for probaly next to nothing.

Milk the price on the rebuilt title as much as you can.

Depending on why it has a rebuilt title I would buy it in a heart beat

Rebuilt or not.. the car looks clean! get a mechanic you know/trust to take a peek for the $50 he'll charge you it's worth it. $3800 is a steal imo

Looks like mine but i own a 92 SC300 which had 200k+ at purchase now has 223400 as we speak. Runs beautifully! As others have said the rebuilt title has to addressed & get a lower price based on that, around $3200-3400.

I'm going to guess low-impact front end collision the damaged the pass. side. See the fog lights how one is faded and one is not? The one is a glass 95+ the pass side is from a 92-94.

I believe it was hit in the front, no frame damage that I can tell.

As everyone else has said, the chief issue is to find out why it has the rebuilt title. But it looks completely clean, and I'm loving that price.

Another good resource to check out is the Lexus owners site. If you create an account and plug in the VIN for the SC, it should give you all the official dealer servicing done to it over the years. That way you can see how it was treated before it was rebuilt and see if it truly is a gem in the rough, or one to kick to the curb.

Still not that much more than my car, and this is the upgraded year with the body kit, engine, and shifter. This is quite a deal. But this seems too good to be true lol. There has to be a catch.

Both of the airbags got deployed in the impact. You can clearly see the passenger airbag isn't flushed with the dashboard anymore also the steering wheel has been changed to a 97 and lower year car. No upgrade tri spoke steering wheel.

Tran, good catch on the airbags. That would make me think twice about buying it, even for that awesome price. I've heard horror stories about how airbag deployment will keep a car from ever being the same.

On the one accident I was involved in where the bags were deployed, the insurance company immediately totaled the car. I don't normally agree with those pirates, but in this case it seems to make sense.
