Stick with the dealer on this on, I tried aftermarket,,,,, they suck. the dealer was surprisingly inexpensive. I paid less than $60 and it was an easy install.
I didn't know that the antenna adjusted to compensate for best signal strength. Is that part of the Nakamichi system only, or all of them? In other words, if I swap this system for aftermarket, I lose that little neat feature, correct? Also, do the other Lexi do that?

I know mine does it. I have the premium sound system. I dont know if other Lexus' do that or not. My mom has an RX and I dont recall it doing that with her antenna. I never really check but I'm pretty sure it doesnt. I might be wrong though. It is a nice little feature even thought I never listen to the radio.
thanks...
I thought I was having hallucinations as I followed my Lex in my VP's Legend 6 speed this weekend and the antenna was going up and down. Today, i found out as you change stations, it does that. I have the Nak system as well.
We have a 92 SC300 without the Nak system and the antenna moves to find the best signal. At least it used to before it started falling out of the hole and hitting the side of the car. I wanted to replace the mast and the motor, but the dealer wants $250 for parts and labor. So what I did was let the antenna get out half way and disconnected the motor. So now the antenna always stays in one place. It works great, and I dont have to spend $250.

Do you ever take your car to a car wash? If so I would be surprised that they accept your car since it might break the antenna off.
even with the stupid thing going up and down, my AM signal still blows, ive done the fixes listed on this site, im just about fed up with it.....next week it may just be XM!
I'm grinning huge here... I couldn't figure out why the darn antenna would move up and down when changing stations. Pretty cool feature now that I know what it is.
