I hate electric antennas. For my 1999 RX300, is there any alternative? In other words, one that doesn't retract every time you turn off the car. TIA.

 

i have not attempeted, but i wud think it shud be easy to disconnect the antenna motor and run the radio wire to another spot where you can use a solid antenna that comes in newer RX's or get a shark fin type like those on BMW's

Lexus dealer wants $85.00 just for the replacement antenna mast! Ouch!

 

Search the forum for instructions as to how to install a replacement mast.

 

I think I remember reading in a few places, including on CL about an RX owner or two who had used the antenna from the Acura MDX.

My antenna hardly ever gets used since I have the XM Radio hookup with the cassette adapter, though I do like a lot of the local music down here.
