I had to have the windshield replaced in my 98 SC4. Had OEM glass put in but afterward the mirror wiggled around just like yours, I ended up getting a new mirror and that did the trick.

Yup That is what I figured was going to have to happen which is a bummer, Insurance paid for this so I assume they will take care of the issue....I hope.

Dude youre in the same boat I was. I got my SC in december and it had a small rock chip in the lower passenger side, I meant to get it filled with that gel stuff but it cracked half way across the windshield before I could get it done. I had my glass replaced by the Lexus dealer which insurance covered, but after they replaced it the mirror would not stay on correctly so basically in the end I had Lexus tell my insurance that it was required to replace the mirror with the glass and I got it done for free

Good info to know! I am starting to get upset at the glass company so I may just bypass them and go straight to Lexus and see what can be done there.

Progressive gave me the choice as to where I got it done and I wanted OEM glass so I just went to the dealer. The glass was about $1000 and labor was about 300. I think they have a glass guy that comes in and does it for them.

Replacing the whole mirror or mount because of that small ball thing seems a bit jive to me and wont be an option.

I'm thinking maybe re-adjust the small ball or just replace it. I'll yank the mirror out and have a look behind the metal piece after the next show in case I make things worse.

Im thinking when you removed it, it might have flexed or warped in some way making it not fit snugly on the mount. I would try another mirror first, maybe just go to the junk yard and get one on the cheap and see if it fits any better.

^ We're basically saying the same thing in different words. I removed the screw, didnt yank it out/remove the mount with it. I think with all the pulling that came along taking off that doggone screw I either broke the ball or moved it that its not tight. I sold my old mirror, dude paid for it before I try it back so didnt mess with it and just packed it. With my luck... things go wrong.

If I do find a clean mirror in the yard I'll pull it out and try it. If not I'll yank out after the meet in 2 weeks.
