Rear view mirror wiggling around
I just replaced my rear view with a newer one and for some reason it is now not firmly tight. I removed the hex screw, removed mirror, put new one in, screwed it back in until it didnt turn anymore... mirror wiggles.
I read around not to remove the screw and it does nothing. However, the new mirror came without a mount or screw so the option of "yanking" it wasnt feasible, had to use the method mentioned above.
I removed the screw again and examined beneath the mirror and the metal piece back there wiggles a bit as well. I think this is the cause of the problem.
Old one wasnt moving and was firmly mounted with that screw. Suggestions?

I unscrewed it and examined again. From the seems of it theres a small ball kinda thing thats loose on the side facing away from the glass. I am crossing my fingers that the mount isnt broken and need a new one. That'd suck.
Come on guys, nobody fixed this issue.... ever? lol
Worst case scenario ill apply some adhesive back there. If its broken then its broken. I'm just waiting on either a proper fix or a word that it cant be fixed. Whats the word?

The circled part is the "ball" kinda thing that isnt holding tight. Facing away from the front end of the car. That whole metal piece where the mirror is screwed in moves so a longer screw wouldnt help either.

I bought all brand new parts in an attempt to fix that, and even paid Lexus to fix it, they left it in the same state it came in - loose, it seems to have caught enough tension it doesn't move anymore, but you can definitely bump it out of place easily.
