i had that problem and im pretty sure its your driver side switch grounding out wrong so i would just replace it and call it a day. Im sure you can find one in the classifieds for a good price

When I had that same exact problem that you did, It was because I needed a new window regulator on my passenger side window.

If you hit the button and you hear motor turning but nothing happening the problem is most likely the regulator.

If you hit the button and nothing happens and hear nothing moving than it is most likely the switch like others said.

It is weird how both LH and RH buttons do not work but my guess would be that they share the same ground...you could take the door car apart and look for a Green and Red wire which is the power to the motor and if you reverse the poliraty the window should go the opposite way.(the wire colors could be different depending on the year model and side of the car) for my 94 sc400 on the RH side it was a green and red wire but anyway it is pretty obvious because it is the only two wires that go to the motor which is screwed on to the door with 3 bolts I believe.

its weird, on the rh side it won't go up, but it will go down, so I'm thinking its the switch... its not the regulator right? and when you play with the switch you see the light on the switch dimming.

find the wire diagram and bypass it if possible. if it doesnt go up the its possible the regulator. Like i said my drivers sid switch grounded out wrong and the passnger side would go down but not up.

bump for an old post, i didn't start messing with my pass window till last weekend, so what i did is reversed the polarity using my car battery and my pass window went up and down with no problem at all, no lag what so ever, so question now is, could it be my passenger window switch? or my driver side switch? or could it possibly be both? help me out cl.

I also had the same predicament a couple months ago.
So I removed the interior door panel and messed around with it. Part of the problem was a rubber button on the outside that was grabbing the window, and also the main problem was that the actuator motor bracket, (that long strip of metal), was bent and the motor would fall off the bracket. I jerryrigged it and bent it back and now the window works really well. Instead of buying a new motor, see if you can fix the motor. (I think it's $700 or so to do at a dealership)

thing is i did open it, and like i said i reversed the polarity, and it went up and down really well. so i don't think anything is bent if its going up and down really well.

If you tried everything above, than it's most likely a weak regulator. If I were you, I'd get in there and mess around with it to see if you can jerryrig it.
Taking pictures might help.... Anyone else?

i don't think its a regulator, cause when it was going up and down when reversing the polarity, i checked it and everything was ok, it wasn't getting stuck or getting caught on anything, not weak at all, no lag, i have a feeling it might be the the driver side master switch, giving a bad ground I'm not too sure though.
