im pretty sure this 3bar map sensor will work for my 1jz non vvti but i wanted to make sure

 

you know the stock map sensor is not a 3 bar map sensor right? Its more like 2.3 bar
you can wire up any map sensor, but you need either larger injectors or a fuel controller to compensate for the change.

also the title says 3 bar but the picture shows 4 bar.

Why do you want a 3 bar map sensor are you wanting to run more boost? Or did your map sensor go out? Map sensors read from 0.5 to 5 volts. wether it is a 1 bar or 5 bar map sensor. I myself ran a 5 bar aem map sensor with stock injectors for about 2 months before I went to 1000 cc injectors and a mega squirt and the car ran like stock. The only reason for a bigger map sensor is if you plan on running more boost and if that is the case you need bigger injectors and a way to control them.

 

the 1j i bought did not come wih a map sensor this is why i need one im just trying to save some money i eventually will run more boost but everything staying stock for the moment as im running low on money

so u ran a 5bar aem map sensor with stock everything else? was fuel cut changed?

 

I was still on stock boost as I was out of injector with the 72mm turbo at 10psi. After putting the1000s and the mega sq. in I turned it up to 20 but I am not sure if the after market map sensor would allow higher boost with out fuel cut. Maybe someone with more insight can help out with this. Let me see if I still have my stock map sensor around if I do pay shipping and its yours

 

yes you generally would want a stock map sensor if your engine is stock.

really a 5 bar map sensor ran like stock?? That is very surprising cause your timing was probably way up and your fuel was probably way lower. the timing and fuel maps are probably conservative enough to get away with it, but I personally wouldn't venture over 3 bar unless you are upgrading injectors and ecu, but it sounds like the OP isn't.

Fuel cut will definitely be increased, but you can raise it above 20 psi with just a 3 bar map sensor. The op was dropping in some huge injectors hence the 5 bar. if you are stock, then either get a stock map sensor (2.3bar) or if you must upgrade get a 2.5 or 3 bar map sensor.

 

Where can you get a 2.5 bar map sensor from?

 

search google for "Motorolla 2.5 bar map sensor". Lots of people are using these on other cars and you can buy them from digikey for like $15, and it uses a small connector like those used on computer parts, or make your own connections.
This is only slightly larger that the stock map sensor, which is good for keeping things consistent, and should raise your fuel/boost cut to around 18-20 psi.
Just put it in a case or something cause it is small and delicate. looks like this

Im still unclear of what i can use with my motor without some sort of management either be a tune or fuel controller besides a factory map sensor....... any luck finding your factory map?

 

with your stock car, you can use a stock map sensor or even a 2.5 bar map sensor, you wont notice much of a difference cause its such a small jump. lots of people apparently even use a 3 bar without a fuel controller, the difference here is much larger but from peoples past experiences, they claim it runs fine still.
If you are planning on doing an injector upgrade at the same time or in the near future, you probably want to go with the 3 bar or above. if staying stock for a long time, find a stock map sensor or wire up the 2.5 bar.
