Default Transmission downshift

Hey Guys,

I have a 2000 GS300 with 70k. The transmission fluid is clean and full.

When I was driving on the highway and I am not on the gas or the tranney from about 30 ish and the car rides down into the 20 mphish i get a downshift when the tranney shifts. Its like a little jerk when you downshift the rpms rise a little about 500k rpm. This happens once in a while.

When regular driving the car shifts up and down very smoothly. If i brake or gas the car the tranney is fine.
Should I add some kind of transmission additive? or should i jsut get a transmission flush?
Or this is nothing because the transmission is basically confused on what to do?
BTW: When are regular transmission fluids changed? What kind of fluid is used?

Thanks
Greg

make sure you use the correct type of transmission fluid. either get it from toyota/lexus, or if you use a regular type of tranny fluid you need to get an additive called "friction modifier" and add it into your tranny

New fluid is supposed to be cherry red. If it is getting really dark then it needs to be changed/flushed.
