Messing with my interior and I put back together. Battery died cuz of the car being in neutral for a long time. Charged my battery charger and car started right up multiple times. Now I can't take my key out of the ignition. What happened.

Leaving the key in the ignition until someone on cl responds. My battery is probably gonna drain again with the key turned to the first position. Gonna join the fam and watch Rango.

Try pushing the shifter all the way up if it's auto. Sometimes it get stuck.

Make sure its in park if you havent already. If you did, reset the battery while its in park so it doesnt still think its in neutral (maybe it got confused?)

Good job getting it working again tho ha

Usually shaking the steering wheel and/or pushing the shifter back and forth while in park, and at the same time turning the key will work. If not, disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery will allow the key to come out (unless the ignition lock cylinder is really messed up).

Our cars have a security system that will keep the key from coming out in some situations. A usual cause for this (someone correct me if im wrong) is a dead battery in the remote key.

Hope this helps if you get stuck in that situation again.

The key was stuck in the 1 o clock position. Since it was in that position it drained my battery. When the battery was dead, I tried to turn the key and bam. The was out. now I charged the battery over night. Car started right up but the key is stuck again in the 1 o'clock position. What is wrong with my car?

If your using the remote key, the battery in it might be dead causing the key to stay in the ignition.

Do you have an aftermarket alarm system installed?

Yes I have an aftermarket ignition. I went and replaced the battery(engine) and everything is all good. Now everyone knows if this happens to your SC it's because your battery is low. Thanks everyone the help!!!!!
