How does it feel driving an SC with a suspension set up for sport? How does it feel to have suspension and boost? How does it feel being boosted having suspension and racing seats? It might sound odd that I ask about the seats but I notice a different feel when im in my friends evo and not just because it's an Evo. I only ask because I want to know what rush you guys get when your in your SC. I am just looking for words to look forward to.
Cant speak for a boosted sc personally, but i was the proud owner of a 96 mustang gt and a 2000 v6. stock for stock the sc is just as quick as the 96 and the 2000 with a Cai pulleys and full exhaust felt as though it made less power. what I did notice in both stangs was torque. more so in the v8, but according to my dyo sheets the v6 responded very well to mods as far as rwtq. so I'm assuming what you feel in the evo isit making tq under boost. that and the fact that its a car that typically goes 2 seconds faster in the quarter than our sc 'sstock for stock
Suspension kinda varies...there's set ups for drift, drag, autocross, ride quality so the best suspension would be one that compliments your car. for example suspension meant to help an autocrosser. grip the track would make drifting a bit more difficult as a drifter doesn't want his rear tires glued to the track
I guess what I meant by the interior end was this; when I sit in that evo it just felt firmer than sitting on the leather. Also I'd be leaning towards a suspension more so intended for drifting. I like to do sprints around the back roads of where I live and theres a few nasty turns that need some corners. Does the sc offer that firm sport feel ever or is it always that taste of luxury
^^^^LMAO
I have coilovers and boost, and I love the car it feels great, The look and feel of the complete changes when you have power and suspension. One warning about boost is it is highly adictive, I have driven the car for probably 3 weeks since I bought it last year, and i am already piecing together a single kit.
i like my stock tems setup and cloth seats..
its not as firm or unforgiving as a sportier suspension setup..
but drifting wise.. the SC is heavy.. when the back end lets out, it Lets out and id rather it feel Smooth not bouncy as heck from a firm suspension -
about it being boosted.. well depending on the setup but an stock evo or stock soarer so say a 1jz swap sc300 isnt going to be much of a difference 1/4mile if atall.
the thrill?? well maybe just the shock and awe when comparing an evo beside and old lexus.. ppl dont expect the lexus to pull through. ? just imo
thats like saying you have an erection. Yeah im just now opening up a savings account for car mods no joke. Im piecing together my turbo kit and will be getting a manifold here shortly and a precision turbo. I hate the sc stock suspension. His evo is far from stock and was making 600hp till he down tuned it for reliability to about 500hp. It scared the **** out of me, first boosted car I rode in. I'm not comparing them power wise just the general idea of sportness.
I daily drive an evo and there is no car that compairs to an evo as far as "feel" as the steering rack ratio is much tighter, suspenision is leaps and bounds better than the SC and the evo chassis is far stiffer than the sc and I have often thought about putting evo recaro seats in my sc.
My sc has suspension mods and is honestly blah compaired to my evo now the evo has a twin scroll turbo that comes on boost quickly and has a lot of tq which aids in the pleasureable driving exp you get from driving an evo.
I must be crazy.... I thought my SC handled pretty well? I mean it's not exactly a track tuned NSX but it's not exactly a boat either... If I push on my car, it doesn't wobble around like an old caddy. It seems relatively firm compared to some of the cheaper hondas I've driven.
But then again, I came from the Honda scene where 60-70% of your weight is right over your front wheels lol. That would probably explain why my SC feels a little faster in the twisties than my integra gsr did.
Well anyway, I too am eager to get some coilovers and prothane bushings and see just how it feels. I think it would feel pretty sporty, but I'll just shut up and let someone with experience talk, lol.
I will say that since the SC is a heavy car, it's body is more inert which therefor makes it smoother. This can usually deaden the feeling of the road quite a bit. Guess we'll see...

I get depressed when I jump from the evo to the sc as it feels like that mid 80' caddy Lol but I suppose if you never rode in or drivin an evo then I would say never do it as you then won't be always thinking how to get your sc to handle like an evo
This is the battle I fight in my mind almmost everyday so it struck me as odd that someone else has been pondering the same thing.
i myself have some of the stiffest coilovers on my SC (PBM) and it rides very rough but i like it. some sway bars would be enough for me no need to have solid bushings in my opinion. right now i can stand on the side rails in the door jam and jump up and down and it doesnt move and i weigh 215 pounds. it handles well around turns just daily driving it doesnt sway much and sway bars would fully eliminate the sway i think which is kinda want i want haha. i couldnt imagine some power behind it, it would be a really fun car. right now its just a car with suspension and wheels
and the evo is just a machine the computers that handle the awd are some of the best in the world in terms of turning and rebounding itself. the evo is a rally car where as a sc is just a cruiser... i wish i had a evo 8 or 9 =( they are my all time favorite cars ever since i was a passenger in one and they look mean!

Im with her on the handling. my sc is bone stock, and at 3500 lbs handle better than my 2000 mustang did stock(being a vert, the added weight evened them out)
