Rear Bumber Removal
About to swap my '95 bumper for a '97+.
Anyone have any tips on removing the bumper?
It looks like the tricky part may be removing the brackets on each side where the bumper meets the fenders.
Any tips/tricks would be great!
Thanks...

Remove the carpeting from the trunk. There will be about 3 10 mm nuts holding the bumper to the rear quarter on each side.
There are another 2 nuts on each side attached to the rear skirts.
Pry the clips from under both tail-lamps. The same clips are on the bottom side of the bumper as well.
Theres a few screws (if i recall correctly) holding the bumper on at the top center as well.

Vlamos has posted some great diagrams.....those are basically all the nuts and bolts and clips.....
Like Kaidoy said, you have to remove your tail lamps and all necessary inside carpeting material and trunk mat before you do anything, it's just easier.....
Let me know what's up John.....
thanks for everyone's help. those diagrams are real helpful. although, it looks easier than it probably is.

It's pretty simple John, you should be able to tackle it with ease.
BTW, do you have the the Nakamichi and 12 Disc changer in the trunk? It's pretty tricky to change the underside bumper extensions because of the lack of space. Also, there are 2 black boxes(One on each side - don't know what purpose they serve) that you have to remove to access the bolts that hold these underside bumper extensions to the body and rear bumper. These black boxes are screwed down, so you'll need a Phillips.
When you're done, show us some pics dude.
